It is a regular thing that we welcome families from all over the world to assist them in settling down in the Philippines. From Expats to OFWs, the experience always bring something worth remembering.
Today (should be read Monday, May 4, my post is just too late, sorry about that) I was very moved with a couple from Australia who visited the school for a campus tour. With them is their adopted child, a Filipino, bright and beaming with all smiles. As I talk to them, I have felt the love that they have for each other. People would say, that the Filipino child is so fortunate to be adopted by a family who can send him to a good school. This maybe true but I’d like to think that the couple themselves are blessed for having a child they can call their own, thus becoming one family— with love and much, much more.
*the gift of a family is a blessing beyond words
Not everyone though feels welcomed and loved by their own families. We may not know but there are people around us who are broken and empty. They long for a family, they long for belongingness. While we can’t be their mothers or fathers, sisters or brothers, we can always be someone who can give love and encouragement. We just have to be around.
For readers who feel like that they don’t have a family to call their own, we always have our Abba, Father, our God, who never walks away.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
